Steve May, Board of Directors
A San Francisco Bay Area native, Steve has devoted most of his career to focusing on technology solutions that help businesses excel. His industry strength and business success stem from multi-faceted, cross-functional experience, which includes positions as Managing Principal, Business Development Manager, VP of Operations, Vice President of Sales, Consultant, and Auditor.
Thomas Roman, P.E., Board of Directors
Thomas M. Roman, an industry veteran with 24 years of experience in digital marketing, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA. His professional journey includes a four-year tenure at the Iacocca Institute, gaining invaluable mentorship from Lee Iacocca.
Gerald Da Silva, P.E., Advisory Board
Results-driven Project Manager with over 20 years of experience in the real estate and construction industry. Project management experience includes moves and reconfigurations, tenant improvements, site development, ground-up construction, and a specialty in the design and operation of essential facilities and data centers.
Jim Kerr, Advisory Board
Jim’s technology and executive management experience spans more than 30 years. After serving in the United States Navy, Jim joined the telecommunications industry, working with commercial telecom integrators, regional Bell operating companies, and manufacturers.
Wayne Reeves, EE, ATD, Advisory Board
Wayne has dedicated over 30 years of his professional life to building technology infrastructure and data center facilities. His success stems from unique skills in collaborating with owners of mission-critical facilities, MEP Designers, equipment manufacturers, and other key delivery professionals in the Data Center industry.
Stephen Johnson, EVP Program Management
Steve brings 30 years of expertise in critical facility and data center development, specializing in site selection, adaptive reuse, and greenfield development for both single-facility and large-scale campus projects. His experience extends to optimizing existing data centers’ performance and cost efficiency while planning for future expansion.
A leader in vendor and contractor selection, Steve has a proven track record of assembling high-performing teams to execute complex projects. He played a pivotal role in establishing the first standardized tier classification system (Tier I – Tier IV) for the communications industry, providing a benchmark for assessing data center performance.
Steve’s commitment to innovation includes co-developing a smart electrical panel designed to monitor individual circuit loads in data center PDUs, enhancing operational reliability. Additionally, he spearheaded the development of the first IUOE Stationary Engineers, Local 39 course focused on data center fundamentals, ensuring skilled trade professionals are equipped to support this mission-critical industry.
His contributions also extend to industry best practices. He has authored a structured playbook that bridges enterprise needs with data center operations, driving efficiency, resilience, and strategic growth in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

Michael Cantrell, DCDC, VP Construction Management
Michael Cantrell has devoted his 20-year career to the mission-critical data center business. With domestic and global experience, Michael is recognized as an industry leader in the areas of data center development, design, executive strategy, compliance, education, and organizational growth.
